On August 18, 2012, the Downtown Collingwood BIA hosted its first ever Blues, Brews, & BBQs at the Station in Collingwood's historic downtown. Local teams competed to see who would be King of the Grill during the Collingwood Ultimate BBQ Competition. The daylong celebration featured a community pancake breakfast at the Farmers' Market, an afternoon tea in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and wound up with a Blues Music Festival and the BBQ competition. The 6th annual Meaford International Film Festival took place from August 30 to September 2 at Meaford Hall in Meaford. The Festival features a theme of Four Nights, Four Films, Four Parties. Prior to the screening of the first film of the year the Brightstar Group hosted a cocktail party in the tent beside Meaford Hall where the after-parties are held. The Film Festival was once again a huge success. All four nights were sold out and audiences reacted with enthusiasm to each film. Read More..
